Travis
Biography
Shiloh
Travis began working in his father's construction and
design business at the age of fourteen. By the age of
nineteen, he had risen to the position of job
superintendent for the firm. While a student Southwest
Texas University, he founded and managed his own
construction business, then in the Fall of 2000, he
rejoined his father's firm as an Intern. Upon graduating
from Southwest Texas with a degree in Construction
Technology, he became Vice President and Production
Manager for the firm, and was elected President of that
company by its Board of Directors in less than six
months.
In the
summer of 2002, Shiloh Travis purchased majority
interest in Round Top Companies, Inc. That firm markets
with two dba’s, Texas Country Home in the custom
home business, and Round Top Restoration in the
historic restoration business.
His focus
since he entered the management of the firm has been
customer service and high-quality construction. He is
very “customer satisfaction oriented” and spend a large
part of his time managing the needs of his clients. This
is possible because of the highly skilled “in-house”
staff, including very experienced foremen, attend to a
great deal of the day to day management of the projects.
Shiloh
Travis has moved the focus of the firm further towards
new construction, particularly large custom homes, but
still takes on historic restoration, large scale
remodeling and commercial projects.
Shiloh
brings an interest in "earth-friendly" and
energy-efficient methods of construction to the firm,
and is a proponent of the "green revolution" in
residential construction. His training in new
technologies that focus on sustainable technologies has
added a new dimension to the philosophy of Texas
Country Home Builders.
Under his
direction, Round Top Companies, Inc. (dba's Texas
Country Home and Round Top Restoration) has been the
prime contractor on the Round Top Children's Library and
many other Central and South Texas historic homes, new
custom homes, and businesses ranging in cost from as low
as $50,000 to over $800.000.
Texas
Country Home serves a six county area of Central
Texas. It specializes in new home construction in a
variety of architectural styles, but also takes on
historic restoration, adaptive historic restoration,
large-scale remodeling and historic commercial projects.
The
company is predominantly a negotiated design/build firm,
but on occasion will consider entering a qualified
competitive bidding process on projects designed by
quality architects.
Since his
father first relocated his design/build business to the
Central Texas area in 1991, the father and son team have
successfully completed more than ten million dollars in
residential construction contracts. |
