Round Top
Companies, Inc. is one of the premier high-end
residential custom builders in Central Texas. The
company does business as Texas Country Home in the new
home market and as Round Top Restoration when it takes
on historic restoration and remodeling.
The
company was founded in 1990 by Christopher K. Travis,
(link name to bio page) the father of the current owner,
after he relocated from Houston, Texas where his was
named Remodeler of the Year in 1981 by the Greater
Houston Builder’s Association. Shiloh Travis (link name
to bio page) purchased the firm in 2002 and is now the
sole owner of the company. Chris Travis now owns two
design firms, Round Top Design and Round Top
Architecture, who have formed a strategic alliance with
his son’s construction firm to offer their clients a
turn-key design/build service.
Texas
Country Home specializes in high-end custom homes in a
variety of styles, and also continues the company
tradition – as Round Top Restoration - of restoring old
homes and historic buildings. Shiloh Travis has brought
a commitment to using renewable resources,
energy-efficient methods of construction, and other
“earth-friendly” methods to the firm, and provide his
clients with information and resources about various
“green building” techniques when appropriate to his
client’s needs.
In
addition, the company is a resource for antique homes
and period cabins which can be bought and moved to new
locations and restored.
The
company also brokers recycled antique materials, and has
a great deal of experience at purchasing and installing
antique materials and other architectural antique in our
“period flavored” new homes. The company resells antique
pine flooring, barn wood siding, antique timbers and
other special materials to clients throughout the area,
whether the company is serving as the builder on the
project or not.
